Hey,

I’m Steve and this is my page. I am the pastor of First Baptist Church in Decatur, Illinois.  While the church has been around since 1843, the church building has recently relocated from downtown to the very north edge of town. (map).  Check out the homepage to find out who we are and what we are up to.

My family and I have just recently arrived in Illinois. We moved here in June, 2007. We came from great church in a great spot- First Baptist Church in Rapid City, South Dakota. Before that we were at Madison FBC, Madison, Indiana, for 20 wonderful years.

We are confident that God has led us into this ministry and are excited about what is in store for us here. Our church is alive and growing and we believe that God is up to something special at First Baptist Church of Decatur.

Judi, my wife of 28 years, is my best friend and is an amazing human being.  She is a teacher, a musician, a gardener, a runner, a hiker, a biker, a baker, an animal lover, a health junkie, and an awesome mom.   Our first date consisited of climbing an old  tree on our college campus and we continue to truly love the adventure of being together.

Judi and I are the proud, ultra-proud, parents of two adult children, Luke and Caleb. Luke lives in Easthamton, Massachusetts and works for for his alma mater, Hampshire College. Caleb is living in Camden, NJ, working with Mission Year, an inner city ministry

I am putting together some pages that I hope might be helpful to people who find them.

I made a list of the books(besides the bible) that have had the greatest impact on my life and I also keep a running log of what I am reading now.

I am real excited about the new blog we just put on the website.  i will write steve's sunday blog after services to get us talking about worship and the way God is touching us as we come together.

I might also keep up with my favorite links or websites I have recently visited.

As time progresses, who knows what else may end up here.

Don't forget to check out the homepage, and if you are ever in the neighborhood, stop by and say "hi."
