Community

• Worship - At the core of our community is worship.  Our primary worship experience happens every Sunday at 9:30 a.m.  For those who like labels, our worship service is probably best described as "blended."  The sanctuary is comfortable and welcoming and you are sure to feel at home as the folks at FBC love to greet new friends.  On a typical Sunday, you will see suits and jeans, dresses and capris, wing tips and tennies as FBC strives to become a "come as you are" church.

• Worship &  Music Ministries - It takes a lot of people to make worship work.  Multi-media folks, ushers, baptismal and floral committees, diaconate leaders, readers and pray-ers and then there is the music.   Our worship music is coordinated by our Minister of Music: Sanctuary Choir, Praise Team, Carillon Bell Choir, Solos, Instrumentalists, H20 (children) Singers, RPM (righteous puppet ministry).  Decatur FBC loves to make a "joyful noise."

  

• Retreats - Youth retreats, men's and women's conferences, and camping experiences are all a part of community life at FBC.  In addition, we put together an all-church annual retreat that includes great worship, good study, wonderful food and lots of fun for the whole family.

• Meals -  There is an old saying that goes something like, "wherever there are Baptists, there is food."  While that may not be entirely true, it is definitely true about the folks at Decatur FBC.  As people gather around the table they enjoy fellowship, discover friendship, and cultivate community

• Family Events - Family events like "trunk or treat" or trips to the zoo allow families to grow together in their walk in Christ.

• Sunday Breakfast - Every Sunday morning, breakfast is served for the children of the church.  Many of our kids come to us through our "van ministry" and a hot and hearty breakfast awaits them as they arrive.

• XYZ - Our senior adults get together, learn together, eat together, travel together and laugh together through the XYZ group.
